ok, i'm doing my head gasket right now and i'm at the point where i need to mark the timing belt in the direction that it turns so that it can be put back on the right way. which direction does it turn? if you're standing at the front of the car looking at your motor with the cam gears on the left, does the timing belt come up the back gear - across - then down the front gear or does it come up the front gear - across - then down the back gear. better yet, if you're standing at the passenger side of the car and looking directly at the cam gears does the belt spin clockwise or counterclock wise? thanks, sorry for the retarded way to ask that question. Facing the motor with the cam gears on your left... the rotation is towards you. OR if you are facing the timing side of the motor, the rotation is clockwise.
