Posted by Vector_Racing_Bie, Apr-13-01 10:47 PM Mine only started clicking after my dealer replaced it (those basterds!) and water pumps are a pain to change because you have to pull all the other belts off first. I personaly would let the dealer do it, that is if you trust your dealer because I don't anymore! | |

615, RE: skrilla.. Posted by Skrilla, Apr-14-01 11:53 AM Spun conrod bolts, and if that's it then it's time for an engine rebuild. The common symptoms are a clicking sound from the engine compartment. As it gets worse the clicking sounds vibrates on the clutch pedal. The clicking, if indeed this is the problem, is the connecting rods slapping up and down on the crankshaft. Very bad news if this is it. It has already plagued several memebers here, including myself. | |

619, Mine was the water pump Posted by Wyatt, Apr-30-01 05:54 AM They just had replaced it and after the races they found teh washer on the water pump had broke and it was making a metal on metal sound when idleing. sounded a lot worse than it was. | |

I know the sound your talking about it's coming from somewhere around the condenser. Any kind of knock would sound like it's right on top of the engine and would get louder as the engine revs, and sounds more like a rattle than a constant click, click,click... | |

I still havent had a chance to go to the dealer about it after I replaced my radiator. It sounds like metal to metal so I'm worried. | |

623, RE: Mine was the water pump Posted by js99rs, May-02-01 04:09 PM mine does it when i first start the car and its at idle. doesnt seem to do it much after its warmed up. i dont think its any thing to worry about as long as you cant hear it when reving. my sisters seabring lxi has been making the same sound for the last 40k miles. im assuming its the same problem even with a diff engine. | |
