60986, 2.4L Bottom End Question Posted by BCMFlash811, Oct-08-03 02:56 AM
Is this the same bottom end that I would want to swap onto my 420a as what you guys are talking about on here? If so I think I may get this, considering it already has the beefier internals, and I would want to turbo it once I put it on. http://www.howellautomotive.com/Howell/Store/catalog/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=37_190&products_id=578

Yes it's the same 2.4 The 2.4 of the Caravan, Stratus, Breeze, Cirrus, Pt Cruiser, Jeep Liberty
The 420a head fit but the engine is not a direct drop in

Thank you for your answer, I know I'm going to have to do some engine mount fabrication for the passenger side mount, but I was worried about if it was the right engine to fit onto my 420a head, and it is, so I'm probably going to go with this bottom end because of the heavy duty internals. I'm planning on running a turbo through my hybrid engine and getting a lo of power from it :-D but I would need to get all heavy duty internals for the turbo. This will be a lot more cost-effective for me.

more cost effective is buying a low mileage block and slapping srt-4 pistons, rods, rings, bearings, water pump and timming belt tensionner combined with the pt cruiser oiling system and you have a stage III bottom end for less than $1000
