oke today I added oil to my car..well my uncle did sinceit was around 2 bottles too low and he decided to use 5w 30 oil..Is that ok to use in our engines since everyone else uses 10w?..I searched but didnt find what I was lookin for and now after we got back from autozone buyin break fluid ;)(another problem fixed)and I started it up theres this kinda tapping noise commin from the front passenger side we both looked and it seems to be commin from around the the belt area....dunno what it is but I was just curious on that...and what are some signs that ya need to change yer tranny fluid????(manual transmission):shrug :shrug

I dont think you should mix different oils because it changes the viscousity.
the signs for needing to change the MTX are missing shifts a lot and every 30k miles. If you are missing shifts a lot you probly have the wrong fluid in the tranny. Make sure you get the right kind of tranny oil from mitsubishi/ or dodge.

You shouldn't mix different types of oil. Period.
That tapping noise on the passenger side is your lifters, which are affected by oil. The stock 2gnt ones are of bad design, so really the only way to get rid of that noise completely is get the updated PT style rocker/lifters.
