Hey man! Mine just started doing this also. It sounds like it is camming when i first start it up, almost stalls, corrects itself, and then does it again for about a minute. When it is doing this it makes a horrid loud noise from the engine bay. It doesnt matter if the car is cold or hot, but if I turn it off, go eat or something, then come back and start it, it does it again. After about a minute it runs fine otherwise. I have recently replaced plugs, wires, and all vacuum hoses so it can't be that.
This weekend I am going to replace my fuel filter and use some throttle body cleaner and test my coil pack.
Any ideas people?

Here is a MP3 of my engine when i 1st turn it on. Any ideas what is causing this idle problem. Also you can hear that high pitched hollow sound. It only makes this sound when it does this bad idle thing. After a couple of minutes, whether hot or cold, the engine then starts to idle normally.

sounds like maybe an exhaust leak.

I don't think it could be an exhaust leak. How could that cause such a messed up idle? And it only occurs for about 1 minute after the car is started, whether hot or cold. Any other ideas out there?? I am getting no cel's at all, and my datalogger shows nothing out of the ordinary that I can tell...
