60434, OBX Catback exhaust

Has anybody ever used an OBX 2.5" catback exhaust? Or at least how are OBX parts in general. I found one on ebay for $250, would this be worth it or is it just a big waste of the green stuff I don't have. I read the review on one and it and the guy seemed to like it alright, but will it last, and how do they sound. Here is the link... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33630&item=2434675359

Thanks for any input.

Shawn

Well I don't know why your getting it but if your looking for the best HP gains... don't expect it with that or any exhaust without major upgrades. If you want your car to breathe more than the 2.5 will let it do so. Is it manderal bent?

I want this mainly for a better exhaust note, I want something deeper, not ricy like most hondas. If it gives me a HP/Torque gain then bonus! I plan on doing simple bolt on's to increase HP to a respectable level, then sometime in the distant future I want to go turbo. So I guess what I'm asking is will this be sufficient for a turbo'd car? When all is said and done i want somewhere in the area of 15-16 psi. But this is all in 1 and a half or + years.

Thanks,
Shawn

I prefer the type H, but obx makes a really good exhaust. the tone is nice and deep. also where else can you find a mandrel bent, stainless steel catback at that price?

if all you are looking for is a better sound. save yourself some money and get a muffler. i have an arospeed bomb muffler on my car that looks very nice and sounds amazing. sounds way better than any honda ever will and better than most cars for that matter. i get compliments on it all the time and i think its the reason people actually think my slow ass rs is kind of quick. besides, once you go turbo its better to have a 3" exhaust for more exhaust flow. so save yourself the money now and go with a muffler.

i will verify that dinks obx muffler definately has a hole in it
lol (sorry dink its not funny to you but its kind of humorous to me...)

other than dinks holy obx catback ive had no experience with obx products (sorry thats of no help)

but on a side note: if you are 100% positive or even close to sure that you're gonna be turbo in the future, i would say (and im sure others here would too) to go with a full 3" cat back hands down...
yeah it will totally kill your low end until boosted but to me it beats buying 2 different exhaust systems

as much as i love the sound and looks of my thermal catback... now i wish i would've got the 3" cuz i've spent 575 bones more than needed
x(

anyone else?

Heh yeah I'm still looking forward on getting the type H OBX exhaust but then I have a high expense on etc. things so I cant get it yet. But I do recommend it...you can find this cat-back on ebay and a lot of people are bidding on it so gl...they usually end at around $200+ which is still pretty damn cheap to me.

It looks like the GReddy one but its stainless steel instead of ceramic coated.

I'd say buy the OBX CatBack... I love mine! In fact, i think i have the best sounding car in town. I just bought the OBX 4-1 Race header, i dont know the specific "type" obx cat back i have though- but i also paid $288.40 shipped to the door. And the axel back to it isnt all huge and goddy, it came with an optional silencer (which i dont use) and everything. One of my best investments. Everyone is in envy of my exhaust system and buy those ignorant baffles that they either slap on the end or just cut off the exhaust and weld it on.

And as far as horsepower is concerned, i noticed a big power gain in 3-4th gear when i got rid of the catylitic converter. I dunno where you live but its ok in kansas and it allows your engine to breath better...
