59806, ECT- External Coolant Temp Datalog VS. Gauge??? Posted by djtrickee, Sep-20-03 02:56 PM
Hi all-
I have been having some coolant issues lately, and so I bought a datalogger for my laptop a while ago.
here's the deal. My temp gauge in the dash cluster has never moved up above the normal 1/2 way point.
My electrical Water Temp gauge is reading around 185-190 F when the car is warmed up and moving.
However, My datalogger is reading a ECT of around 200-210 F.
WTF?? which one is right? Where does the Datalogger/ECU get its readings from. Which one do you think I should trust... lol.
I was having coolant spilling out around the radiator cap so I replaced that with a 13psi cap, but my temps havent changed.
Any ideas people?
Thanks, Chris b.
