Well I bought a moroso battery box and cables. I know I am going to put it in the trunk but I am trying to get some ideas on exactly where to put it. If you have done a battery relocation and have any pics or suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Here is one way of doing it.:) Very out of the way approach.

I believe Ryan Hes did it and has a write-up for it. Try searching for it or send him a PM.

Joe, that setup is not going to be NHRA legal. Not by a long shot. Some people put the battery in the spare tyre well, but I kinda like the idea of putting it closer to the center of the car, to reduce the rotational moment of inertia. I would put the battery right where the hump is, right behind the upright part of the backseats. Of course, this would mean that the backseats would need to come out. If you want to go fast, though, sacrifices must be made. That's why we all have CELs... ;)

But there are certain requirements for remote mounting a battery, especially in a hatchback, with no firewall between the back portion and the driver's compartment. Here are a few of the requirments...

Sealed metal box
Vented to atmoshere
Battery must be held to the body of the car by 2 3/8" steel rods, studs, or bolts
J-hooks are not permitted, unless they have been welded shut
Battery cutoff switch mounted to the back of the car. If it is of the push/pull variety, then "push" must be off
Said cutoff switch must kill ignition

See, this is one of the topics that can be answered with a quick search. I have answered this question 5 or 6 times by linking to one post that I had made a long time ago.

I have the Moroso Polyethylene battery box and at summitracing.com it says it is nhra legal and you can mount it just about anywhere in the car. Also I did a search and I am looking to get more info on cable routing and as many pics as possible.

If i was gonna do it i would buy the battery made by xstatic its the 800 model
i would locate it attached to the bolts for the stock cold air box to the sub frame and put it low for good center of gravity..

I remind u that the battery is very smaller and light 8x4x7 or something, it has 800cca, and it leaves so much more room in the engine bay...

i just use a 9 volt and a AA to start my car everyday :thumbsup

batteries are overrated imo

only thing that sucks is i have to set my sound system back everytime.
