i got the basic bleeder kit(bleeder attatchments/hose/catchbottle) and some dot3, what is the correct way to bleed this sucka? im doin the clutch restrictor mod tomorrow, 1st person to give the correct way/process gets points

Guy in car presses clutch in. Guy under hood loosens bleeder valve on clutch actuator with hose attached to it running into cup of clean clutch fluid. Guy waits for all bubbles and shit to stop moving fom tube. Tightens. Guy in car lets off clutch. Then puts in clutch again. Guy under hood loosens bleeder again and waits until bubbles and crap stop, then tightens. Guy in car lets off clutch. Repeat as necessary until no more bubbles or crud comes out. Make sure you keep an eye on your clutch resevoir too. The level wil go down quite a bit. When the bubbles stop and it's clean, the clutch may feel slighlty different. This is because the fluid is actuall cleaner now! Mine felt like a new car. I couldn't have done it without run4cvrs help. A worthwhile thing to do imo.

Yeah thats basically how I do it. I let someone push down on the clutch pedal all the way,then loosen the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder. Then BEFORE the fluid stops flowing, I close off the screw and repeat. You basically dont want the fluid to stop flowing when bleeing. I sometimes have the person step on the clutch pedal half way down, then before the pedal gets to the floor at the end of its travel, then close off the bleed screw. Air can be reintroduced if you let the pedal hit the floor and fluid stop flowing, esp if you let up on the clutch pedal with the bleed screw still open..Also, I dont suggest to get rid of the restrictor if you have an upgraded clutch. It will make slipping of the clutch harder to do. It just gives less pedal travel to slip the clutch..I put mine back in when got my ceramic clutch disk..

Yeah, be SURE the master cylinder resovior doesn't run out of fluid. Its best to have a clear tube connected to the bleeder scew to see any bubbles and the clarity of the fluid. And thanks for the points :)

I would always have someone pump it 3 times and hold, much like bleeding the brakes.

EDIT: i mean bleed my clutch. i noticed after hitting post that my statement could lead some to believe that i need to replace my clutch...

all i want to do is bleed the clutch. it probly has never been done in almost 85k miles. what do i need to bring or can i buy it when i get there. whatever you guys want. you are the ones helping me. :thumbsup
