I upgraded a number of things at once, so i need serious help troubleshooting.

Ported and polished intake manifold
Corbin's intake manifold spacer
Bored throttle body
EGR block off

Now, what would cause a 4000 rpm idle?

Do i have some major air leak somewhere? What's the best way to trouble shoot that?

I have no idea how to adjust idle either. Is that done with the throttle position sensor?

chilton's manual was no help either.

Does anyone know if the EGR is suppose to be blocked off at the manifold or at the bottom of the EGR pipe? Does the egr connection at the manifold need a gasket?

Corbin, does your manifold spacer have torque specs or do i just get it as tight as i can?

Any and all help from anyone will be truly truly appreciated.

The EGR should be blocked off at the head, the tube removed, and the hole in the back of the manifold should be blocked off, also. Just use a metal blockoff plate on the head with the stock gasket, and all should be fine. For the manifold, I would RTV it in place to help it seal. Grey, Black, or Copper RTV should work perfectly well.

allen, when i put the sensors on my bored tb, there were 2 small rubber o-rings, if they are not on 100% flat it will cause ur idle to be that high, check that out too.

Major leak on the intake manifold somewhere, possibly the mani gasket..

TB gasket will do that... my friends 94 cutlass sl does (did) that... he took everything off, went dremmel crazy, and reused stock gaskets, his car idled at 4000 rpms. pretty loud seeing as it's a 3.4L V6, whole new performance exhaust, hacked airbox and shit...

what i'm trying to say is if you reused gaskets, that's probably what is doing that

You have huge airleak alright. Use a new TB gasket and two new intake manifold gaskets if you doubt them. If your TB is poorly adjusted, then it may be open too far (unlikely). If you didn't use a gasket on the EGR block off on the manifold, then you may have a leak. You're going to have to examine all of the gaskets on the intake manifold. When everything is installed right, you should have a stock idle.

I'm going to go back and putting sealant on all the gaskets. They were all brand new, so while i'm taking them apart, i'm going to make sure they're aligned right, etc.

I'll check the o rings on the sensors too, thanks steve.

I didn't block the egr pipe at the manifold side. The mopar EGR kit only came with one thing... out of the three pieces, it was the only one that seemed to fit, unless i missed something?

My map sensor was a little iffy, would that cause anything weird? Definately not a 4k rpm right?

I'll keep you updated, but if you have anymore advice, all is appreciated!

Put the EGR block-off plate and gasket on the back of the manifold...don't touch anything else. If you left that wide open, then that is definitely your problem. On the head, you should use one trapezoidal block-off plate and a stock gasket. On the manifold, you should use one diamond shaped block-off plate and a stock gasket.

Not trying to jack the post, but my EGR code (32) has been going on, and off. Where can you get the blockoff kit at, or do you have to rig something up?

Sorry to bring this post back from the dead, but I forgot to update on the situation.

I fixed it the very next day. It was definately the EGR causing problems. My friend didn't tighten the bolts properly when blocking off the egr on the head. We were trying to leave the EGR tube on to give it a stock look.

That didn't work so we took the whole tube off and blocked off both on the manifold and on the head with metal plates.

It started like a charm, everything is smooth.
