59488, Is this a normal temp? Posted by pea_jay, Sep-17-03 04:53 PM
Well my guage that shows the temperature on my cluster is setting at about 1/4 the way up. This is after driving 26 miles. Shouldnt it be warmed up by then? I know its getting cold, but would it effect it that much?

well, that guage isnt accurate anyway. It should be sittin in the middle. Have you done anything with your cooling system lately?

after putting in my reverse glow gauges mine did the same thing for a while, even though it was about 105 degrees outside. AFter a week it righted itself magically so I don't worry about it.

yeah, thats why i was wondering if he checked the cooling system. Check your thermostat, its cheap and easy.

Normal temps on our cars should read just about half way on the temp gauge. Either your temp sender/gauge is faulty, or your thermostat is stuck open, not regulating coolant flow for proper temps. Also, check the one wire connection on the temp sensor itself, to be sure its tight, clean, and sound connection. The gauge temp sender is the bottom sensor on the thermostat housing, and has one wire connected to it.
