59306, PLEASE Look At These Pictures.... PLEASE... (56k beware)

Ok so after countless hours of struggling to take my head off to replace my head gasket, I finally got the damn thing off... Well, to my dismay, I think I saw a problem (or several for that matter of fact)... It looks like the pistons and valves are absolutely
s-p-e-n-t
I dunno if I can just clean off the corrosion with a wire brush, and keep on using them or replace them (which I sure as hell dont have enough money to buy)... Please just look at the pictures below and tell me ure honest opinion... I just wanna brush them off and reuse it all, but I dont think itll hold up for that long...
Help 2gnt
:thumbsup

question 1 why was motor tore down?

question 2 what are u trying to accomplish?

and as for the pistons thats carbon build up no big deal get some carb cleaner fuel system cleaner and spray on it and it will come off with some work. i dunno if id use a wire brush on my pistons but scotch brite couldn't hurt any thing....

u need a gasket scraper for the deck and cylinder head and a new gasket id recomend a felpro gasket cause it has some exta sealing silicone on it cause i know your not gonna deck or mill the head since u just wanna slap it back together...

i dont see any problems just dirty stuff...

do not use a wire brush power or a power sander to clean off the deck on the block or head... hand scraper and scotch brite brake/carb cleaner no power tools!!!!!!

Next patient Please =)

Looks fine to me. Only thing you should be worried about are tiny little cracks with white deposits around them.

DONT use a wire brush, as it will destroy the aluminum.

Just use a gasket scraper, may need to use a razor-blade style one, and get that head-block mating surface polished shiny clean without scratching it.

Otherwise, you're good to go. Maybe run some mopar combustion chamber cleaner through there when you're done and the engine is running again.

Congrats on getting this far :) That's what I was doing tonight too actually :thumbsup

And 2gnt saves me again, who should I make the co-payment out to? lol, jk.... :thumbsup
The only reason i got scared was because my friend told me that they were "toast" right as we were takin the head off (to change the t-belt and headgakset, because the turbo wore the head gasket right out)... Ive never taken the head off so I had no idea what to expect, and hes already done this a couple of times... Well doctors, thanks for saving me.... :thumbsup
