I was wondering if anyone out there could shed some light on controling bigger injectors. specificaly 500cc i have a apex SAFC but I dont know that that is enough. anyone else have any ideas on a setup that would work?

i was told that if you use an SAFC you don't need bigger injectors because the AFC makes the injectors you have work harder.

I am not positive on this but I know for my VR4, the largest injector an SAFC can control is 720cc I think. It can control 600-700cc's w/o too much problem. 500cc is not a problem at all usually w/ an SAFC. Its all about correction %.

However, this is info for a different car. I am not sure if it can be applied to a 2gnt as easily. Hopefully, someone can back me up :)

Is this for a turbo setup? If so, you can use a Vortech S-FMU for up to 450cc injectors... add an APEXi S-AFC for anything larger. If you want 600cc and larger injectors, use an Accel DFI.

If you are not boost or nitrous feeding your engine then just forget about it... you're running rich as it is.

These or 550CC are going in a 97 420 using a T4 turbo running 22 pounds on 100 oct. gas with a 75 shot of nitrous. I am not sure if I want to stay with the AFC or not..

You will need to really be on top of the timing. That's the only real drawback to playing with the map sensor, if you lean too much with the safc then the timing advances and BOOM.

Um, you *might* be able to get away with just an SAFC, but damn man you're definitely looking at a standalone of some kind to run all that safely.

Search the Turbo/Nitrous section.

You'll need more than 550cc injectors for that setup. 720cc injectors and an Accel DFI will work for you though. Timing may not even be an issue if you're tuned well enough.

the 8 injector setup works great. now that i know how to work it its the best. i love it. cant wait to crank up the power/boost... hehe

dougie2, I like the car. very nice. I was thinking 550CC might be ont he small side but 720cc sounds huge. maybe 625cc? the HRC stage five kit runs 25 pounds of boost on 625cc. And how is the accel DFI for tuning? I have never had experience with one before. but I am kinda leaning in the dirrection of stand alone.

625cc injectors may work... start with the boost and see how much fuel overhead you have for nitrous. The DFI is a huge pain to tune... you need time, knowledge, and patience. The 8-injector setup is also nice I guess.
