59105, Tachometer Help, quick question Posted by csmakio, Sep-12-03 02:54 PM
Hey guys I just bought a new Tach and the wires arent long enough to reach the ECU to connect them. So my questions are:
1- Whats the best way to get the wires into the engine bay 2- Any way I can mount the wires inside the car like the electrical box instead of going to the ecu 3-Anyway I can mount the tach in the glove box easily?
Thanks guys
Nick

1. you can go through a grommet in the vicinity of your steering linkage. Look around, you'll see it. Just use a straightened coat hanger to get it through easier. 2. not sure on that one. probably not since you'll need a signal from the ECU as opposed to a regulated voltage like on an accessory 3. why? the tach is the most useful; instrument in the cluster. you want to see it at all times. If you're racing, you need to look straight ahead, not over in the co-pilot's lap.
Have fun sir!

steering boot under the dash. Poke a hole through it.
