I saw an engine bay shot of a race-prepped crx with what looked like header wrap on the intake pipe. Anyone done this?

I did. I think I saw that same car. You saw it in Sport Compact right? The best deal I saw in insulation tape was a the big hardware store in my town in the heating and AC section. The only thing I really noticed is when I started it up on cold nights it stalled a little at first when I was starting it up. I'm guessing this is because then engine has no chance to preheat the air, but then again it could be nothing. At any rate I think this mod might help out more on hot days.

Dean.

Its not header wrap its thermal barrier wrap. Dont put header wrap on intake piping, you want to keep heat out not keep heat already there in. Thermo tec makes thermal barrier tape for such applications.
