58897, 420a ENGINE PULL: now done Posted by bmxunderground, Sep-09-03 06:36 PM
I have never posted any questions on this board because the search is so good. Well, thanks to Mark, and others, the engine is out and now being rebuilt. Enjoy the pictuers below.
I have it out and you can see the shop is busy with other projects as well, there is a 11 second GSX 1st gen parked right there with Germ moving parts before it gets painted. Tim is over there in the back left molding the rear bumper to that 00+ Celica, and I am of course finishing the clean up after I got the engine out.

The engine hanging after I layed the tranny down separate.

What's this!!! WE GOT NO ENGINES! WE GOT NO ENGINES! DO WE! DO WE!

HAHA! I have one of those pictures too!
A couple Chrysler 420A motors would fetch a premium 2 weeks before Race Wars, wouldn't they?
(leaky head gasket + oil on belts = big mess)

We pulled then engine to paint the engine bay and the entire car. But while the engine is out, we are rebuilding it with only OEM parts with the acception of pistons and head gasket. We are putting forged pistons in and replacing the bolts on the rods with ARP rod bolts, as well as other bolts and things. The head gasket we have decided on is the one mentioned here that lowers compression. If you all have any ideas feel free to toss them out. We arent starting on this for a couple weeks while the paint and bodywork is being done.
Get back to me, and YES I did enjoy this websites search, ONE OF THE BEST ON THE WEB!!!!!!
PS: axles were a pain in my butt to get out...out of the tranny that is.

>There are only two ways to modify your car,...the right way and the wrong way...no in between.
mexicans are very ingenuitive...they have found MANY ways of fixing cars. including the infamous "half assed" and "i'm over it" bling bling, who needs a pan gasket? "i'll just keep puttin oil in it when it runs out"
mexi's at my shop.....bah
