i found it odd when we installed my friends underdrive pulley when it slid right on whereas mine had to be pressed on with the bolt. now, after 2 months of use, the inside of the new pulley is shot and we're wondering if anyone else has had this problem. now before anyone asks if it was torqued to specs, it was done. everything was torqued to specs on that before we cranked it.

What kind of pulley are you using? Does it have a steel insert like the AFX pulley? It shouldn't just slide on, though. It should be interference fit.

Yah it should take some muscle to get on and off, you shouldn't be able to freehand it. Mine has gotten a little easier over time, or I'm just used to it. But it's been on and off a good half dozen times.

when i put my afx one on, it took some effort to get it on. but on his is just slid right on. not too sure what kind it is. but what i also found odd is that when i put my 98 pulley on his car(95 year), my stock pulley just slide right on.

his crank nose could be fubar... is the pin still intact?

Sounds like the shaft on his crank is worn down... somehow...

well, we got it all back together, the shaft is worn a little but we dont' forsee a problem with it cause the stock pulley was really snug, and just to be on the safe side, we used red thread lock on the bolt so that sucka aint' goin anywhere
