I was just reading the sticker on the driver side door jam of my car. It said my car weighs 3800 lbs. :o

Doesn't this seem like way too much? I thought it should be 2800 lbs, not 3800 lbs.

Why is it so damn heavy?

Its a 95 Talon ESi with all the upgraded besides the leather, but this heavy? Damn.

that isnt the car weight.

thats the GVW - gross vehicle weight.

that means that 3800lbs is the safe limit that your chassis can support, meaning 2800lbs worth or car and 1000lbs of passenger/cargo

Had my car weighed with 1/4 tank of gas, and me in it, at 3060 lbs. I'm about 150 lbs, so car weight was about 2910 lbs..yeah pretty heavy

our cars are heavy. period.

not really our cars weight just right, the GST/X is a fat cow feels like one compared to our cars when you start taking it through the turns.

mine is 2800 without driver not that heavy. when you start adding stuff you don't need is when you start getting a heavy car hehe.

Race-weight of my car, without me in it (at the drag strip, gas light on, no spare, tools, or jack in the car) was 2690 at the end of the day at the last import event I was in. I was running REALLY low on gas, and I don't have any washer fluid in the car either.

I checked the scale's accuracy by comparing the car's weight with me in it, and with me out of it. 2848 lbs with me in it, 2690 witout me, so that's 158 lbs, the scale was accurate :)

That is what my car weighed about a month ago. That was with no radio or speakers,fiberglass fenders and front/rear bumper covers. Since then I stripped the interior and put in lightweight seats.

im going to gateway internation raceway today hopefully the scales are up and running i want to drop into the 2500 lbs i'll see today
