what does it mean when the red battery lite on the dashboard comes on intermittently?

sounds like your battery is runing out of charge or its not getting charged enough.. maybe alternator or just the battery is going dead..

Either / or. Take it to just about any general autoparts cornerstore, and they'll check your charging system for free.

also check the battery connections...mine was doing that and it what the neg bat cable was loose...

Yep I had a loose cable and mine did that too.
