don't yell! i searched. I was going to put my crank pully on last night and i set it up and wacked it a few times so it would set on the crank. Then I stoped because it wasn't going on very easily and I though if I hammer it on it could ruin the crank, or send it for a walk. :P So am I safe to hammer it on? Could I have already damaged the crank from wackin it a few times?

No, shouldn't do any damage, but you don't need to beat on it to set it on. Do you have a longer crank bolt? If not get a bolt about an inch or so longer same pitch and size as stock crank bolt and use that to pull the pulley on the first bit, once you bottom the longer bolt out, switch to the stock bolt and push the pulley on the rest of the way.

People have pounded the crank sprocket on using a mallet and piece od wood, so there should be no damage to speak of.

i have installed/reinstalled quite a few. I usually use a copper BFH and WD-40 to get it most of the way on. Then i use the stock pulley bolt to finish up the job.

hey whats the best way to lock the crank so I can screw that bolt down?

with the UDP i thread two bolts into the holes for the remover tool and wedge a screw driver against thr frame. For the stock one just wedge a screwdriver against the block.

I have used the big screwdriver method, but i usually just unbolt the starter and use a prybar on the flywheel.

Heh, I think I'm the only one who just got someone to put it in 5th gear and step on the brake.

All well and good, but my method works solo.
