58303, Weird compression test results... Posted by dougie2, Sep-01-03 02:06 PM
Normally my compression is 170 psi in all 4 cylinders (8.8:1 CR). Today after a few 15psi street runs, number 3 was reading 155. Tested them over and over and number 3 was consistantly reading 155.
So I took a Labor Day nap and come back a few hours later and warm up the engine with brand new NGK 7-range plugs. Re-check the compression and 170 on all 4 cylinders.
WTF? I'm thinking I may have an issue with the valvetrain for cylinder number 3. I've been getting some pressure above the valves on hard runs (pressure is pushing the hard vent tube out on the driver's side of the valve cover causing some oil spatter.)
Any insight on this?
