I want to relocate my battery. What do I need and where should I mount it. Does anyone have pics?

i want to do that so i can get more goodies under the hood. but i also want to do the grounding kit mod. any thoughts besides running a ground cable up to the front ground it. that is not the best idea by far...

its an avenger, so its gonna look a lil different but

just need the summit relocation kit and then a power distribution block for the power lines up front.

Summit says "Accepted by NHRA only if the vehicle has a rear firewall." I want to be able to go to the track still. So can I use this kit and be legit....if not what would I need to relocate my battery and still be legal at the track?

i believe as long as you are not going pro you wont have to worry about nhra legal stuff. if you want to be legal with a rear mount, i believe it has to be a metal box and it has to be bolted down to the trunk. there may be more but i think that is all you need to be pro legal.

to be NHRA legal, you need a sealed box w/a vent tube.

the moroso relocation kit is NHRA legal, but costs like 2-3times as much.

Does anyone have a pic of the engine compartment and the power distribution block?

for the distibution block, u need one w/ a 2gauge input (or whatever size line u run from the battery to the front), and 1 4gauge and 4 8gauge outputs. i got mine off ebay, theyre typically used for car-audio setups. do NOT get a fused distribution block tho, just a solid block is all u need.

moving the battery gave me plenty of room for the distribution block, the 034 EIC and the profec b solenoid. my ic piping also no longer rubs up against the battery :)

Where else can you get a power distribution block from? Is there any other name for it?

best buy, car audio shops, etc

ebay will be the cheapest tho. mine was 1/2 the price off ebay compared to best buy.

its just called a power distribution block. they come in different layouts, u need one w/ 1 4ga port, 4 8ga ports, and 1 Xga port (x being whatever gauge wire u run to the trunk...the summit kit uses a 2ga wire).

this is the one i have...wish i would have got a regular rectangle shaped one tho, but there were none on ebay at the time, the car audio shops around me were out of stock, and best buy wanted twice the price
