My head gasket has been blown for a while and its been leaking oil but I've been putting oil in and trying not to drive it too hard (racing and stuff). Well recently it started leaking alot of coolant. It seems to be leaking down from the right of the oil pan in the vicinity of the water pump. At first I was thinking maybe there was a whole in the water pump or something but there is too much shit in that area to look. Then I noticed that the heater blows cool air even when the car is heated up so I was thinking bad heater core. Once in a while I would notice a shitty sounding rattling noise coming from the engine bay but it would go away when the car would warm up.

Well...

Today I was driving to work and the noise got much louder and the car died. It won't start but it sounds like its turning.

If an engines seized would it still turn?

Could it be that the head is just so warped that its pissing out antifreze and making a rattling noise because I was hearing the inside of the engine and then not starting because all the compression is leaking out the warped head?

Do you guys think its seized or just a warped head in which case I'll just mill it and do the head gasket?

hmm... sounds like my car, my head gasket blew, ialways topped it off with fluids, then the seal on my water pump went and started to make a rattling sound. My opinion is to fix that stuff before you drive it any more

I'd guess that you either threw or snapped the timing belt. If your water pump seized, that can really screw up your t-belt. I would open the timing belt access cover and see if there is still good tension on the belt. If this was the case, the engine will turn over, but you will have at least 4 bent valves.

I just checked the timing belt and its still in tact so I don't think thats it. Unless maybe it slipped a couple tooths??
