I hate the dealership... That is such a rip-off. You can buy an OEM o2 sensor from bob kise at fenton dodge for under 100 bucks shipped. Their number is 810-714-3300. Do youself a big favor and buy the oem sensor, or you will be buying another one within a few months. Changing it is extremely easy. All you do is get under the car and follow the downpipe down from your exhaust manifold. It is the first sensor you will see screwed into the exhaust pipe. Unscrew it, unplug it, then screw the new one in and plug it in.

You need the upstream o2 sensor.

Yes, it does make a difference. There are 2 o2 sensors. The one before the cat (upstream) is the sensor that gives feedback to the ecu for fuel correction. The one after the cat is only used for emissions. It just lets you know when your cat has crapped out.

If they said it is the rear o2 sensor, then you need the downstream one found after the cat.

I found a site that sells our o2 sensor for $54.99 with free shipping and handling. It's WWW.OXYGENSENSORS.COM when I got my sensor it comes with the instruction, antiseize, factory tie wrap and of course a brand new 02 sensor. It only took 3 days to get it.
