57761, my belt/alternator/screaming loundly perdiciment, please help Posted by eclipticrider, Aug-24-03 04:29 PM
i posted about a week ago about my belts screaming loudly... i have finaly realized what causes them too scream...
it only happens when i turn my head lights on, some times when i have the air on too... parking lights alone is ok, even with the stero on... but as soon as i flip those headlights on SCRREEAEAESACCHADHAKLDJAHTLKAJ well u get the picture...
and it sounds like it's coming from the alternator, lower back passenger side of the engine. and if i turn the headlights off it still screams untill i rev the engine a little
what are the possibilities here? i'm still goin' to change the belts, could it possably the the alternator? sometimes when it happens the battery light comes on...
thanks guys

mine only does that when 1. the car has been run hard and 2. I get into the upper rpm band, so I dunno.
