I was thinking:

port the head and intake mani
all top end gaskets
plugs and wires

Not sure about:

should I do my timing belt even though I had it done about 15k miles ago
water pump

Anything else you guys can tell me to do.

If I had the money to do all the big things I would do it all, but I am just trying to get the essentials out of the way first. But thanks

I was quoted 300 at a local shop. But it depends on how wild you want to get as well.

if you have a lotta miles I suggest having the head rebuilt and getting a valve job and replacing the valve stem seals. I learned the hard way.

heh, i have 164k miles, 8x,xxx isn't bad at all in my opinion, i have about double as you!!!

how much do you think i'd be looking at for redoing my head? i'm thinking new SS valves (1mm over if not too expensive) springs, retainers, seals.... anything else other than having it decked?
