When you have the ignition turned on, does your ecu make a very high pitched noise thats very noticable? Mine has done it since day one and i was wondering if this is normal.

Yeah, i think it's diagnosis...not sure though. it's normal however.

hehe yea. i noticed this yesterday. once i shut my car off after driving fairly hard on the way home from work, i popped the hood to check on a few things.

it was a very high pitched whine type noise, then it switched and got a little higher, then shut off after a minute or so. my car talks to me!

Well i was working on my car today with Matt1995_gs and he said that his ecu has never made that noise, thats why i was concerned. We datalogged my car and everything came up normal, but i still have hesitation like nuts. We thought it was the ecu causing the problems.

Mine does it too, maybe he just can't hear it cause it's too high, like some people have told me that they can't hear a TV turn on, but I can tell if one's on from yards away.

Man, i dont think i have ever heard my ECU make that noise..although with the damn exuast, motor, and rapped pig fuel pump, and cant even hear myself think, let alone a ECU whine...haha our cars like to whine a lot :o

hehe yea. it was after i shut the car down, and my head was right near the ecu... give it a try!

He isnt just talking about that very slight high pitched noise that when you put your head next to it you can hear. It it made a high pitch noise similar to when you bleed off air in a baloon with the ends pulled tight. It was loud enough for me to notice it far away from the engine bay with a stereo on in the garage.

mines always done that :shrug:
