alright i have a few questions first the story i just got a extra eng. i pulled the head to see whats in it. stock pistons have a raised part in the center correct. cause this one has flat pistons with the grooves for the valves. and i can moove the pistons side to side what is that. how can i tell what type of pistons and rod it may have

sounds kinda like the JE poistons i got. Dont they have their logo stamped under the crown...pull one out and see.

Are they shiny where there is no carbon? Cast pistons are dull grey even when clean. JE's are forged aluminum and are shiny even after use. They also have a JE logo on the bottom.
Pull one and take a pic and i can tell you immediately if its stock or not.

Stock pistons do have raised centers. My JE 8.8:1 pistons did not have that, as that is what gives you your lower comression ratio. Sounds like you have some forged low comp pistons in there. If you just pull the oil pan, and get a good light to shine up on the undrside of the pistons, you should be able to make out the JE logo, if they are JE's.
