I installed my I-J crankscraper yesterday. It took about 2 hours total. Initial feedback is that I can feel it. The revs are a little peppier, the RPMs dont fall as much when shifting, and I can feel an increase in torque in the lower RPM range. Fitment was excellent...I didnt NEED to alter it at all although I did just to be safe. I did have to end up dropping my 2-1 part of my header to take the oil pan off but it made it a lot easier. I can do a write up if anyone needs. I say it was worth the $50 and an easy mod!:thumbsup

i got mine a couple weeks ago..havent installed it yet though. Probably gonna do that tonight since the engine is on a stand ready to go back in tomorrow.

sorry, but i have to ask this, what is a crank scraper? what does it do? and how does it work, and in which way will it improve the performance of the engine?

if it bolts on to the rod cap don't you think that it would kinda defeat the purpose of the counterweights, meaning that it would cause in imbalance in the rotational something? you know, like how adding or removing a weight on a wheel does?, also, wouldn't the extra vibration caused by this imbalance cause bearings to wear unevenly, or cause the engine to shake a lot, especially at high rpm's?

it bolts in between the oil pan and block and comes within 1 mm of the crank and keeps a windage cloud from forming around the crank.

What are some of the benefits?

· Less rotating mass for the engine to accelerate because of the removed oil

ok, just got it installed a few hours ago. Pretty much the same case here. I didnt need to alter it but I went ahead and filed it down a hair just to be on the same side (the clearance just wasnt quite enough for my liking). Fitment was very good in my opinion though.

does this just replace the pan gasket? or what, how did u guys all put this thang on....someone do a writeup cuz somewhere a long the line someone will ask this again and well, a write-up would be cool anyway.

It does basicaly replace the gasket. But I didn't notice much of a difference with it in at all. But it was only $50 and was easy to do. So I so go for it, IF you want to spend $50 on 2 hp.

better then spending $300 for 2 hp from a header :) although you can feel a header more.

The 2.4 turbo in the SRT comes stock with a CS.

good you dont need a gasket. Cuz i thought i would ahve to buy 2 one before the scraper and one after.

Ugh... not the header crap again.

I used RTV above the crankscraper and the gasket below. You could just as easily use RTV on both sides.

No you dont need a gasekt at all...and the crankscraper comes with a write up of how to install it.
