i baught the hastings ring kit... and my stupid ass friend took all the rings out of the box where they were marked...... now my problem is i dont know which one goes where... i have the 3 ring and spacers installed i just dont know which is second and which is first..... one set has a mark that tells me which side is up... and are completely black. the second set has no markings and is black with a silver ring along the outside. if u guys can help id appreciate it

If i remember right, the second ring is all dark, with a dot on one side, that faces up. The top ring is the black ring with silver edge. Someone else should clarify this first though. It was a while ago that i built my motor, and i dont know if that is 100% positive. I'm pretty sure thats right though.

It's you're lucky day, bro! I just happened to have this wonderful pic for you from when I was in the same predicment...



EDIT: They are both marked if I remember right. There is a dot near the gap on the tops of each ring. It's not really easy to see, but after you give your friend a swift kick in the ass for causing all this trouble, you should wipe them off good and look at them very closley.

u want the chamfer on the bottom facing the crank chamfer = lower ring

the top ring should not have a chamfer and should me moly coated on the outside...

remember to 180* the ends
