Hey all, right now I have a breather on my PCV valve instead of connecting it back to the AEM cold air intake. However, I need to get the car smogged, so I need to put the hose back. BUT my AEM intake does NOT have a hole punched in where the hose connects to (it should but does not). So if I connect a hose, then it will essentially plug up the PCV valve. Is that ok? Will this damage anything or make my emissions worse? Thanks.

you can take off the filter and connect a hose. but DO NOT plug up the other end of the hose. if you plug the other end of the hose the pressure under your valve cover will just continue to increase and eventually blow your valve cover gasket and spark plug gaskets. then you will have oil seeping out of your valve cover cracks. i'm curious as why you don't just leave it the way it is? what's wrong w/that?

THAT IS CORRECT - DO NOT PLUG the PCV Hose. The engine crankcase MUST breath and this is (in part)how it does it. WILL DEFINETLY cause problems if you do it.

Except eclipse 804 you don't have a breather on your PCV valve you valve it on the valve cover vent. If your engine bay picture is current. You will still release pressure into the intake manifold through the PCV valve hoses. The vent on the valve cover that goes in to the intake tube is what you have a filter on(again going by your picture. I actually have a breather on both right now.) Just for taking emissions I would cap it off. It's not worth drilling out your iceman and putting a fitting in just for emissions. As long as you can pass visual with it capped. If visual will be a problem just run the hose from the vent down below the iceman and maybe they won't question that... tell then the hose connects to the bottom of the iceman and hide the breather on the end of the hose down beneath...

Thanks, you're right. I guess its not the PCV valve but the valve cover vent thing that should connect back to the intake. I think if I just connected a hose, but didn't connect it to the intake it would raise suspicions because there IS and inlet on the intake for it. Its just that the bottom of the inlet is not drilled through so its actually still metal plugging it up inside...thanks
