I have browsed a few posts here and there and I see a handfull of N/A cars running only 15.9....15.7...yet they have more than a handfull of mods.

I wanted to know, who here has the fastest and most powerful STREETABLE n/a eclipse?

We pulled a 15.6 in the 1/4th with only these mods.

-MSD coilpack
-Cold air intake
-8mm plug wires
-NGK hotter plugs
-test pipe
-weld on muffler
-ported TB

everything else is all stock. We figured we could make it down to low 14.s in this eclipse like we have done in our N/A Saturn. Our Saturn just ran a 14.4 in the 1/4th with theses mods.
-Cai
-ported TB
-ported INTAKE manifold
-port and polished head
-stage 2 cams
-hiflo headers and cat back exhaust
-accel ignition coils
-Underdrive pulleys
-8mm plug wires
-MSD ignition unit
-ground wire kit

I really want to work this car down like John Lapid. His eclipse which was featured in "The Fast and the Furious" (the green car)ran a 12.94 in the 1/4th all motor, higher compression, stand alone computer systyem and the works, I spoke with him about it and I would love to do the same. So all of you who are avidly working out the same goal, give me a shout, I am ready to drive another car in order to hit my goals for this N/A...not 12.9 but definately 14's...lets hear what you guys are up to..

well the thing is are cars arnt really to light. so shave a few pounds. but i think even if you dont. Do everything you did to your saturn to the eclipse and you should be good for low 15's high 14's.
If that doenst put you thier try 10.5 pistions and some serious head work.

Well I know Todd's, VX100, car has run 15.3's I think he is the fastest. I've run a 15.4 with a CAI, exhaust, gutted cat, Jeep TB, and UDP

I would assume that Todd is a bad ass driver.

A bit of both. He is a "badass driver" but also the factory freak is at play. Some cars come out "better" tunned then others. Tune your car right and have it running right and bam should land you a nice time.

15.9 with nothing.

on august 9th at sac raceway im going to run that setup a few times with no laughing gas, and also with a 75 direct port shot.

My mods that I had when I ran the 15.35 run:

GS-T muffler, high flow cat, brospeed header, Iceman CAI, Extrude honed intake manifold, AFX UDP, SAFC, AEM cam gears.

As for now, I have Crane #10 cams, but no faster times yet with them (It's hot out now, wait a month or two and I might see faster times).

Badass driver? Eh, I do Ok.

Factory Freak? I'd disagree. I don't think my engine is special in any way. I started off running mid 16s with my car when I first drag raced, with almost no mods. If it was a freak,I would have hit 15.9s from the start.

You just have to know how to launch it, what mods to do, and what mods NOT to do. I attribute the good 1/4 mile times to running on the right day, a good launch and the right mods, not to "he got a lucky engine". I think any properly running and properly driven NT, with the right mods, can do the same.

WOW, It's hard to believe a Saturn went 14.4s with those mods, unless you gutted it to nothing. I own an SL2 and I've raced it (well, autocross, but you get the point), they have a serious weight advantage but the engine just doesn't have any balls, those must be serious cams and headwork, and it must be revving higher than the 6500 rpm stock redline. I just don't see that car hitting mid 14s only revving to 6500.

And the Green Eclipse in TFATF, if it did run 12.9s, I think it hit that time with alot of nitrous, I doubt it could do 12.9s all motor with all that crap on it weighing it down. 12.9s is FAST for a street car, hard to do all motor with 2.0L and even harder without weighing 2000 lbs like those lightened CRXs you see running those times all motor.

I'm not far from 14s, when I get there everyone will know ;)

The White Saturn the guy who asked has temporarily been returned back to stock awaiting a new batch of S-ICON.com's newest parts and accessories. In the mean time we are building a new engine for it to hold boost. The end result will be shown at NOPInationals. (rev limiter eliminated by use of auto ECU in place of Manual for higher revs)

Another note: The twin cam Saturn engine has much potential and enough balls for a tuner trying to be different in a world of clones, and they are equal engines with the 420a, and both have returnless fuel systems so similar principles apply.

Further more, so there are not many 14 second N/A cars here on the boards? I would figure a 13 second car would be the norm from an eclipse 420a.

Finally, I'm not sure if the BS flag(which is pretty funny) was for me but seriously, I work with 3 cars of my own and 6 other team mates. Our times are accurate and designs are clean cut on each car. The cars we have worked on and their times below. All Team INNOGEN cars.

Eclipse RS- minor mods, intake exhasust- 16.5 best time to date
Saturn SC2- many mods, 14.4 all motor no nitrous until next week
IntegraLS- custom turbo 5psi 13.7 last night on its very first run.
EclipseGST- stock 14.8
Hondaaccord93- 16.9
EclipseRS- turbo 14.7 needs much more fuel tuning
300zx twin turbo- 13.4 fmic only(needs better driver LOL)

Let me know if there are any real low times from an N/A Eclipse, I would love to meet and talk with them.

That's some good work on that Saturn. Maybe it's because mine is almost at 196K miles has something to do with it :)

And, it's hard to get a NT eclipse to 14s, or at least it's a challenge, because they weigh too damn much. The engine is willing, just look at any well modded all motor Neon! It's just lugging around too much weight.

There is one thing to remember, most peopl ewho mod eclipses modify the turbo eclipses. Then, once the turbo kits came out, most people who want to go fast do so with the turbo, so ther is only so much willingness of the population to keep their cars NA and push the limits when you can see such good results fromt eh 420a with boost.

And what defines real low 1/4 mile times? Myself and one other person have hit 15.3s and faster, two others have gotten 15.4s.

My 96' RS (the original Factory Freak :P) went 15.5 with a short ram and catback only, my first and last real time at the track. This was in the dead heat, right after it rained.

that f&f eclipse, sold on ebay for like 50-100k, i cant remmember, but it didnt have a stand alone, just regular bolt ons.

The queer eclipse from f&f had a turbo 420a nothing special it ran 14's.

The eclipse from the f&f wasn't turboed, at least not when the movie was made. Take a close look when they pop the hood, it had blue coated headers. Don't believe everything the say in the movies...:thumbsup

I have a 99rs 5speed when my car was stock I was beatin Si's only bye a little like half fender duno if i have a factory freak but now I have a 4-1 OBX-R header , short ram intake , test pipe , OBX-R muffler , and no A/C or Power steering and I'm at the back fender of a stock gst, Now I just added a 50shot of Nos I'm thinking I'll run low 14's all most or maybe 13.9 in the 1/4 duno :wary

It'll take more than a 50 shot to bump you near the high 13 second range. N/A your car must be running in the 15.3 range and probably making 150whp. To run high 13's, you will need close to 300whp. You could do it with less, but you'd need slicks.
