56006, How much horsepower with for my new setup Posted by daltah, Jul-25-03 04:38 PM
Just a good estimate on how much horsepower I should have. My car is a 99 eclipse rs 1.CAI 2.OBX 4-1 header 3.2.5 catback exhaust 4.55mm throtle body with PP intake manifold 5.AFX UDP 6.Crane Camshafts 7.JE 12.5 Pistons 8.Eagle rods 9.PP and milled head 10.Stainless Steel oversized valves 11.AEM Cam gears 12.Upgraded fuel pump
Thats about everything engine whys so what would be a good estimate for hp and 1/4 time?

Unless your a great tuner of A/F ratios. i woudnt recomend the 12.5 Pistions i heard thier a bitch tuning wise. get the 10.5.
I am guesing High 14's or low 15's

Not a whole lot really because you said nothing about clutch or flywheel...the stock clutch if your manual cant support that it would constantly slip....and if your auto that wouldnt be able to handle it either without some modifications...as for tractions probably wont have much of that with putting it to the ground because your gonna need something to put that power to the ground like a limit slip differential....
So tell me exactly what you have again?
Performance: Stuff that makes my car run better or go faster
Looks: Stock because looks doesnt make my car go faster or run better
Weight Reduction: CF Hood, No A/C or Powersteering Accessories, No rear interior

All those mods and he would only be in high 14'-low 15's?Even with a different clutch and fly wheel seem like it would be higher than that.1tuffrs has only a few minor mods and is in low 15's

dont put 12.5 pistons and a milled head, you will be sorry :o I have heard of instances of the pistons hitting valves with the 12.5's, so not 100% sure if that was with a milled head or not..If you can sucsessfully run that setup, expect around 200 crank HP, with good dyno time tuning. Good enough for mid 14's with great driving i would think..
