55502, cat back help Posted by Vinh766, Jul-17-03 05:21 PM
i have an apexi turbo dunk universal exhaust rite now connected to my stock piping, i was planning on getting custom piping from my cat and back. i was wondering if anyone knew the size of our stock piping, and what size i should get? i was thinking 2.5 but is that too big? will i loose too much back pressure? is it worth it? and my second question is, does anyone know how i can get that deep, low, non honda sound from my exhaust? like what size i should go, and if i should keep me resonater, or new aftermarket resonator or what? thanks in advance.

stock piping is 2.25"...2.5' is best for NA...u will lose a lil low end torque but will gain in the top end.

if you want it to sound good, go with greddy header/gutted cat/catback with a resonator and a good muff.

Hey, while we're on the topic of down pipes.. my flex peice between the down pipe, and the cat is shreeded from being so darn low.
What are you guys doing about replacing this peice? Hard piped, or just new flex?. And what size flex can we get.. i have a 2.75" system in the exception of the cat and the flex.. i'ld like to finish it off.. ya know

I would say definitely keep the flex section. Without it, it might be difficult to maneuver the exhaust to bolt up correctly should you ever have to remove it again.
You can probably call your local muffler shop and ask if they have different sized flex sections in stock, or they can probably order one for ya.

i was thinking about getting a cherry bomb right after the cat because from a lot of other threads, they say it sounds a lot better, but my issue is, all the cherry bombs that i have seen only have outlets up to 2.25, but i want a 2.5 piping, should i just use the 2.25 cherry bomb, and then from there go w/ there 2.5? or is that pointless, can you guys tell me what you do w/ ur cherry bomb?
