55473, Indy Manifold UPDATE
Posted by TalonSpeed, Jul-17-03 10:19 AM
Uhhh I called Indy today (7/17/03). Rus said that the manifold was in the pattern shop. I asked how long will it be before production. He said "we only work on it when we have nothing else to do because we dont expect it to be a hot selling item".

With that attitude and quality issues with the Neon's manifold, i am just gonna get my manifold extrude honed. $375 vs $500. And the gains didnt turn out to be all that good with the Neon's manifold. Extrude hone promotes velocity first, air volume second. The Indy manifold with its huge runners seems to be tuned towards BIG cams and high rpm use (like crane 16-18, and 7-8.5k rpm).

well i guess the longer they wait the smaller amount of people will buy it. that sucks to hear.

Another company fails to see the potential of the 2GNT and drops the ball...

and yeah, from what I've been reading on the Neons board, it sounds like it's a PITA to install for all kinds of different reasons. Maybe MotoFool will come up with a killer intake soon and be able to retire early. :P (hint)

well i'm tired of waiting my self, i'm going to the extrude hone route, it would've been a good gain with my turbosystem and all, but whatever, they lost a big money opportunity if would've put their mind to it. tell then to stick that manifold up their CULO!!! }(

Excuse my ignorance, but what is exactly extrude hone? What is done to the manifold when it is extrude honed? TIA

Sucks for them I guess. How much do you guys think your gonna improve with an extude hone over a good P&P job? I know its quit a difference in money, but what about HP gains?

So, u pay modern performance for the service, then $200 for a core charge...they do the job, send you the manifold then you take off yours and send it to them and they refund you $200? How much is it for the service?
