That's right. After the bullshit I went thru yesterday, I didn't even get a compression reading. I just tried it again today, and the gauge doesn't even budge. My guess is that when I try to crank the engine, nothing moves, I can't hear anything move. So of course it's not cranking. I disconnected the two relays by the firewall, maybe they were the wrong ones?

Any ideas? I'd like to get a reading before the sun goes down tonight...(not much longer). any input would be much appreciated...

Well if it's cranking you should hear it.. Or just put your hand over an open spark plug hole and you should feel air coming out.

When I did my compression test I just pulled the spark plug boots and pulled all four spark plugs. Then I blocked the throttle wide open, had someone crank the engine while the gauge was in a spark plug hole.

hmmm. nothing was cranking at all for me. I pulled the two relays between the brake fluid reservoir and the clutch fluid reservoir. Were they the correct relays to pull?

I'm not sure about the relays, but try this...

Put the relays back in and just pull all 4 boots of the sparks plugs. Then just lay the boots over the intake manifold so they are out of the way. They will also still have electricity through them so I got them as far away as possible and I'm stillnot sure if that was very safe, btu it worked. Then just crank the engine with all 4 plugs out and the compression gauge in one spark plug hole. Then check the other three cylinders.

That's how I did it and it worked for me.. Good luck

disconnect the 3 pin plug on the drivers side of the coil pack to avoid problems with shocking yourself with 47,000,000,000,000 volts
