55080, what do you think about this set up Posted by darosa4561, Jul-12-03 06:55 AM
well i just wanted to get a basic idea for a setup and see what you guys think. This is for way down the line. Oh yea and before anyone says i should learn before wanting to boost my 420A i know alot besides working on turbo deisels for a while i read Maximum Boost from cover to cover.
so i was thinking of Stage 3 Turbo(when release) A 2.2L stroker Motor with 8.5 compression pistons. and a tottally done up head with over sized valves some cams and a hole port and polish job!
so what do you guys think. I am hoping for Low 13's or very high 12's. Tell me if im on track or not. this is just a ruff list i already know about everything else i need like the missling link and a FMIC and all the other turbo stuff. i just want to hear your ideas on the basic idea. Thanks in advance

i have the same engine bay as you except actully i have more room. I work at a autoparts store and this guy came in with a eclipse and we got the talken and he poped his hood i poped mine and he was like wow you got alot more room then i do between the raditor and the engine. So i def think its gonna fit

I wonder what that setup would rate in hamster power??:wary
Sounds like a plan to me, I'm just curious though, how does the avenger compare to say an eclipse RS weight wise?

what are you looking at for a bottom end? I would spend alot of time on block prep. I spent 4hours on my 2.2 turbo2 motor for my daytona deburing and smoothing the casting for smooth oil return. add then primed evry thing with brown rustolium primer. then look at good rods and pistons. Also look into ceramic coating the pistons and combustion chambers. o.k o.k. I'm rambling....It will take lots of work but very possible. Get the most out of the motor and less out of the boost. Displacment is awsome:thumbsup and you woulnt need to boost so high :-)

yea, the avenger engine bay has about 2 in. extra clearance between the radiator and engine.

I think the Avenger has like an extra 300pounds the cerb weight it 2978 i think. I was planing on ceramic coated the cumbustion camber and other parts of the cylinder head but thanks for the idea. I really didnt look to much into the bottom end cuz i was just going to buy the 2.2 stroker from howell( i know the storyes) and have them put in all forged bottom end parts. Thanks for the ideas and keep them coming.
oh yea i never tried priming oil pump with that. i always use vasaline because once it gets hot it melts to nothing. and its all around the house so i dont have to buy it LOL

the coating is similar to whats on a header. you coat the tops(well a pro) of the pistons so it can take more heat. you can also do the combustion chamber, intake(inside and out), turbo mani(inside and out)and just abought anything else you can think of.
