Can one of you list how to remove the valve cover, and paint it, and put itback on??? for the 420A??? thanx

disconnect battery, disconnect ignition coil pack and remove bolts securing it to the valve cover, unbolt the other 10 or so bolts holding it down, (I use cardboard and draw the valve cover and stick the bolts in it to keep track of where they go) then just gently pry the valve cover off, and degrease/sand it down and paint it with hightemp paint) make sure you have a new valve cover gasket/spark plug tube gaskets and some RTV for around the cam caps thats about it

make sure you torque the bolts on the head to the specified torque. and torque them in the proper order. get a chiltons manual and it gives you a step by step on how to remove and install the VC. It also has the proper torque specs and torqueing order. Don't fuck around unless you want a striped bolt on the head and a leaky valve cover. Also replace the VC seals while you got it off.
