54775, 2.4 block w/ a 2.0? Posted by nemesis_talon, Jul-07-03 08:41 PM
ok i keep readin about that, and i really dont understand it b/c i read first that its the 2.0 block and the 2.4 head. then, i read its the 2.4 block w/ the 2.0 head. i know w/ the 2.4 block u need a mounting kit and the rpm's are lower and that the headers would be only inches from the firwall. besides that what all is nessary for this?? lets say if i can get the 2.4 block what would i need to do next?

when we are talking 2.4 we are using the chrysler 2.4 like the one of pt cruiser or the stratus and we fitted them with the 2.0 head of the Eclipse/Avenger
those engines are close to each other but it is far from beeing a direct bolt-on swap

DO a search for 2.4L swap and read away. There's a lot of info floating around.
It's the Chrysler 2.4L bottom end out of cars like the Stratus, minivans, etc. To work with the 2GNT you need to use our head and rewire, custom mounting etc...

The header isn't right near the firewall, that's just on the Stratus. On a DSM the block is turned around just like ours.
