question would fitting a hose of equal diameter work ? i have an idea for a cai set up and was wondering if this is kosher or not ... i know i would have to buy a by-pass valve and all but would it work ... i was thinking of mounting it right behind the driver side fog light housing if possible ..........well ? what do u think ? will it work ?

it'll work just fine. but if it were me i would use something a little bigger for more air.

turning a CAI into a short ram negates the cold air idea itself, your not gonna get the benefits of both by putting a hose on it.

no ... not what im saying ... i have the short ram and wish to connect some sort of hose to the lower driverside front end as an add on ... a do it yourself cold air if you will ...... ps does anyone know the diameter of the short ram pipe ?????????

My Injen puts the filter right behind the opening next to the fog light, very good for air.

You will get better flow if you get the extension from AEM. But it should be better than the short ram to rig somethign up this way.

I would like to do the same thing, But I think for looks porpouses im going to just buy the CAI systom. But for now I'm quite satisfyed with the short rams performance. Anybody know exactly how much hp the short ram gives us?
