I was wondering a few things about rebuilding the block. I am going to start ordering stuff soon, but i wanted some input first. Eventually i am going to do a turbo again, i was wondering if i did the rebuild with lower compression pistons would it hurt my car driving unturbod on a daily? Also, what do you guys recommend, standard bore or .20 over? Is there a major difference? I've had a bad oil leak and my light has come on a few times, which means there's probably some surface damage in the cylinders huh? Would it be better just to get it bored anyway? How much does it usually cost around to get it bored? Thats all for now, thanks

I think the general opinion here is to get the .020" over bore. This makes sure your cylinders a true.

I think lowering the compression will affect your day to day driving since, if adding 1pt of compression ADDS 4% hp, then dropping a pt surely DROPS 4% hp...

I suggest you get in touch with Motofool www.gottude.com

Good luck - you are going to have some serious FUN! :thumbsup !!!

bore it out bigger. and yes, it will effect your daily driving since you are lowering the compression etc. i would try to do it all around the same time.

it wont HURT anything to drive on low compresion jsut wont have as much get up and go as with 9.6:1

bore the block its not the mater of being more power cause u bore it the mater of having a new surface and stright surface to work with....
