54486, Engine on the stand
Posted by The Liquid Drop, Jul-03-03 10:22 AM
My question is where do you connect the plate? I know where it is supposed to go (connect where the bell housing hooks to the block). I am making sure these are the correct spots. The bolts that I have are too small in diameter and length the go throught and thread. Is that supposed to happen? Also, would you happen to know what kind of bolts and such I need to connect these? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. Here is a picture where I am trying to connect the plate. The bottom two do not have threads to go through. PLEASE HELP!

I think the top bolts with threads require a M10 x 1.75 thread pitch, but I would double check that.

On the bottom two holes without threads, simply use similarly sized bolts and have a nut on the other end.

I only used the two on the top because my stand wasn't wide enough to acomodate all the bolts, it worx if you use only two but don't rotate the engine upside down. It you take the head off you can rotate it no problem.

The outer ones you needs to extend your engine stands arms out to reach it if it can.
