54446, TB and high flow cat? Posted by RudoraEclipse, Jul-02-03 07:23 PM
NOPI sells a 60mm TB spacer and I was wondering how it was.Helix Power Tower - 1.8L/2.0L non-Turbo Mitsubishi Engine Only - 3 Bolt Throttle Body - BILLET ALUMINUM<---Thats what it is. Also my friend wants to sell me a universal high flow cat made by Summit and I was wondering how that would do on my car or if it would help. I am gettin the stage 3 Hahn so keep that in mind. TIA!!!!!

The NT 1.8/2.0 motors they are talking about are the 4G's. (Im pretty sure on that.) And Im sure a highflow cat will help, but you will need a completely new exhaust system to reap the benefits of stage 3. Goodluck.

Yup 3 bolt 1.8L/2.0L is for the 4G63/4 not the 420A, we have a two bolt TB.
High flow cat will be nice, what brand? catco? That's the one I have, ERT welded it up for me.

High flow cat will be nice, what brand? I dont know the brand of the high flow cat, all he told me is that he bought it from summit racing. Also they have a 2 bolt 60 mm TB so I guess I will get that. Is it a good investment and will I notice an increase in HP?

I don't think there is that much heat transfer from the TB, more from the manifold. And the extra air flow path really won't do anything. I wouldn't buy it, but I could be wrong.
It would actually be benefitial on a set up like the Neon where the manifold makes a sharp bend under the TB and that would help the airflow through it, ours is a straight shot.
