Hi, guys, I decided to go for the used Tranny.
(tell me if that's a good idea? -- used Tranny swap)

Ok, I been doing searches on "replace Tranny", "Tranny removal", "axle removal", ....etc... and I can't find any post that directly say in details or with picture on how to TAKE out a tranny.

I konw that I have to take off both front wheels, then take off the control arm, etc, then both axle taken off, then take out hte tranny. Yes, it sound SIMPLE... ubt I NEED DETAILs... Every single bit of it. I already fucked up the tranny when I rebuilt my engine due to lack of details....so I am very very nervous about this, and I am extremely worried that I might fuck up something else this etime (just don't trust myself)


SO please, can I have a full detail list of steps from all of you guys. THANKS MAN..

Well, if the car is completly back together:

REMOVE the following things:

Battery, and batery tray/bracket also
All intake piping
Starter
Set aside the brake master cylinder fluid resovoir
Take off the winshield washer resovoir
Shifter linkages
Tranny cooler lines
Crossmember under car
Small access plate to take off 4 conveter-to-flexplate bolts
Take out the 4 bolts
The 2 block-to-trans support brackets
Drain trans of fluid
Disconnect part of the front suspension to pop out the axles
Pop out the axles
Support the bottom of the engine with a piece of wood accross the bottom
of the oil pan, using a jack. Dont jack up the motor, just support it.
Take out all of the trans-to-block bolts
Take off the 3 rear motor mount bolts that go into the trans. You dont
have to fully remove the mount, just what connects to the trans.
Now use another piece of square shaped wood and jack, to support the
bottom of the trans.
Take off the driver side motor mount, all 3 nuts, and the mount through
bolt, so remove the whole mount. The trans should now be free.

Having another helper with lowering the trans will help alot, as he can guide the trans down as you lower it with the jack. Once its on the ground as far as it goes, you are home free. Putting the trans back up is a bit more difficult, because of its awkwardness and weight, but again having a helper is a good thing to have. Be sure to replace the trans filter and fluid with new before final startup. Be sure to PRIME the TC also before you put the trans back on. You know how to put the TC on now too :) Good luck, its really not that hard at all. I actually just pulled my trans, by myself, from start to the trans on the ground, in about 3 hours. Just a few less lines to take off because i'm manual, but still no biggie.

But I have a question. well couple question.

1) Can I take out the tranny from the bottom? is there enough room?
(Do I have to remove all the control arm and etc inorder to have room to slide it out?)
2) How do I prime the TC with oil? (ANY PICTURES?)
3) How you take out the TC? (I NEver took it out, coz the input shaft is bent and can't take out)
4) Where and How do I refill the tranny oil?
5) Where is the Tranny Filter?
6) After I took off the oil pan (Tranny) Do I need use use the sealant to put it back?
