Just finished installing my Brospeed header and new Megan racing cat and now i have a wicked rattle/buzz. I tracked down the problem. When I installed the header and the cat it pushed the rest of my exhaust back about 1/2 inch towards the rear. ( ithink it was the cat.) Anyway now the exhaust is vibrating against the crossmember by the driver side rear. Where the exhaust goes over. I can't seem to figure out a way to keep it from vibrating against the crossmember without going in and having my hangers re-welded at the muffler shop (arrgghh). As a temp fix do you think I could wrap that part of the exhaust tube with exhaust wrapping or something to keep them from vibrating against each other?
Any other suggestions would be great... its driving me and my neighborhood crazy.

Hey man... i think that if you did the exhaust wrap it would work but eventually wear through it -- in fact i think if you don't fix it there is a chance it would wear through the exhaust itself. What about trying to bend the exhaust hangers -- i mean i am sure they are pretty thick -- but if you heat them up -- might be able to tweak em a little.

Yea I was out there today under the car yelling and banging on the rear hangar... I'm sure it looked pretty funny. I couldnt get it to budge. Trying getting the car up to temp to make it easier to bend, but that just burned me. I am worried about it rubbing through eventually. I fuggin hate having to pay ppl to fix shit on my car that I can clearly see you know what I mean.
Any other suggestions?

is the cat a weld on style? If so take 1.5" off the cat back side of the exhaust and re-weld it up. This way there is no bending your stock stuff:-) I would consider this before any thing so it will be easier to change the exhaust if needed:thumbsup
