54084, Hmm...bumping during light acceleration?
Posted by EclipseRST, Jun-28-03 08:21 AM
I've noticed this problem lately and I can't remember if I ever experienced it before I went turbo. But it seems that mainly in third gear, if I'm going about 30 mph and just barely giving it gas and accelerating moderately, I get a bit of a bump from the car. It feels exactly like I'm going over small bumps in the road, and that's what I thought it was for the longest time but whenever it happens (doesn't always happen) it's in third gear so I started thinking it wasn't the road. When I give it more gas then it goes away and I accelerate very smoothly. I don't think it's a misfire because it's so light and almost unnoticable. 3rd gear at 30mph is not too high of a gear as to where the car is starving for fuel, it's not like I'm in 5th going 30mph. Anyone else have this problem?

My plugs are about 1,000 miles old and the wires are about 8,000 miles old. The last and only time I've felt a misfire was when I hadn't installed the Missing Link yet and it's safe to say this "bumping" feels nothing like a misfire.

I just read through my whole message again and it sounds very confusing but I don't know how else to explain it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.
