o.k., I was out driving around (with the back seat off and the cover to the fuel pump housing off)...making sure there were no fuel leaks from my install...when I couldn't get the car to start up! Checked for fuel leaks...NONE!!!...touched the top of the fuel pump housing...BURNED MY LITTLE FINGER almost clear off (well, not really that hot, but hot enough to not touch it again!)!!!...and after it cooled off some, it started up fine...could this be the problem for us all???

does the pump have a shut-off inside for when it gets too hot? and is there any way that I can keep that fuel back there a little bit cooler?

hmmm...I guess no one else has thought of this?...am I the only one???

i have no idea if this could POSSIBLY be right, but when 12v+ wires short they make a LOT of heat. i would assume that all the hot wires a the pump are fused, but if they are not that could explain a lot. a wire that is just barely shorted would create a lot of heat and prevent the pump from working. a slight cool-down might alleviate the short and allow things to work normally.

again, this is a totally random suggestion based on my work with 12v electronics, not with fuel systems. ;)

Did it crank and not start, or not crank at all?

If it didn't crank at all, then its not the fuel pump that's causing it.
