Here's the deal, we have tested all the relays and they are good, cam sensor is good, magnet is turned exactly 90 degrees counter clock wise (we had a machinist measure and mark it all out), wiring to the crank and cam sensors are good but, still NO SPARK! Things we havent tested is the crank sensor and the computer, I have no idea how to do this. One other theory I have is the actual cam timing is way off, anyone know how to double check that on a 2.4? We are at our wits end with this thing, any coments, suggestions, ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advanvce.

does it try to turn over and just not start of what.....or not even that........id say to check the simple stuff.......battery..alt....grounds.......most likely u have........just trying to help.....

I don't want to seem like an a$$ but check the coil connection. One time after I painted the valve cover the car wouldn't start. It would turn over though. It was the connector from the wire harness to the coil connection. This was causing no spark for me. Just a suggestion.

Check a good engine ground.
As far as timing there should be a timing mark on the crank and then the two timing marks on cam sprockets. Get them all lined up and take a look.
Do you have a datalogger where you can try starting and see what codes spit out?
You've tested coil plugs and wires?

I might be able to drop by this weekend finally to see the beast.. it could be you have the cams 180degress out of phase.. we'll see..

If that were the case a compression test would tell you, you'd have basically zero compression.

That would be cool, we can use all the help we can get. I'l tell Terry to give you a call. As for the other stuff, the car gets no spark, it will crank till the cows come home but it wont fire. We have checked all the normal stuff, coil, relays, wire harness, cam sensor, grounds, and still nothing.

Best way to check cam timing is to pull the valve cover. Near cylinder #1 on each cam, is a small hole. The small holes should both be pointed straight up when at TDC. The 2.4 indexes differently from the 2.0, so if the 2.4 cam gears are lined up, then the cams are 180 degrees off, and the car won't start.

About the cam suggestions, mine were degreed to TDC and BTC when the stroker went in. The car ran well and ran strong as hell when in the boost. Howell themselves degreed the cams, so I am not sure that is the prob. My cam gears are still showing the same degree that they were set at when the car was actually running.

If it is the PCM does anyone know where to get one and about how much they costs? I am really afraind that is the problem.

we checked compression today (it was a shot in the dark) and we got between 160-170 across the board with a cheap ass compression tester ona stone cold brand new motor. It looks good to me. How can we set the motor to TDC without taking off the plastic covers (it would be a major PITA if we had to do that)?

U can't... U should drill a hole in your chassis where the 3rd engine mount bolt is 4 the pass side. I can now do my timing belt a whole lot quicker cause of it.
