I have an AEM short intake and Greddy Evo. I plan on getting a Greddy header and 55 mm tb port. What kind of horsepower increase would I get? Also, will it be a noticeable change (sound and power)? tia

you gain maybe,maybe 5-9HP/TQ and youll have a nice top end but possibly loose a little low end torque, but the top end would scream

I vote its not worth it..go with cams

You would get most of your peak Horsepower increases from the TB. But remember just becuase the header doesnt make a big peak gain doesnt mean it isnt raising the HP elsewhere in the powerband. I have a 4-2-1 setup and I had huge gains in torque on the low end. Ive heard people with the 4-1 say that it helped their midrange torque a little more. In that respect I say get the TB but if you dont plan on going turbo then the header is a nice mod.

^ said very well.I wouldn't jump right to cams, you want the supporting mods in airflow bothin in and out before you do them. You'll gtmore out of cams that way.

Tonight I port & polish my OEM TB and when we reinstall the rebuild motor, I'm installing that Pacesetter 4-2-1.

The Greddy EVO is a nice start. You'd really be better off with a AEM CAI instead of the short ram. I love the way mine sounds. Before the end of the summer I should add a GST muffler, S-AFC, and a P&P intake manifold to my mods list. Free up the exhaust side first, then help your car breathe better. Exhaust, header, maybe high flow cat(or if you have no emissions, gut the stock cat). Then larger TB and maybe tradeout the short ram for a CAI. I can't stress how awesome it is to hear the CAI whine when you downshift or hear it suck in masses of air when accelerating. Goodluck.

^^^ As stated above you will get much more power from the cold air intake versus the short ram air. I personally had a short ram on for a while and always wondered if there was a difference. Then finally I ordered a cold air and all I can say is WOW!. I always wondered why everyone said they felt the intake big time. Its really a night and day difference between the two. Do that and the TB and youll get huge gains.

Lose the header and use the money for a shop to port and polish your intake manifold. You'll see more gains with that.:thumbsup

You have to look at the entire system, Intake->Throttle Body->Intake Manifold->Header->Catalyst->Catback->Muffler am I mising something guys?

I used to have a 4-2-1 header but after installing it on my car it felt like I was driving with a full set of tires and wheels in the car (flashback of when I first installed my 18's and I was driving with my stockers in the car) Instead I installed a greddy 4/1 and got back my low end power. The ported throttle body will definatly give you a boost you can actually feel and hear, if you have a cold air intake then you will hear the air being sucked in as you shift and accelerate.

I have an extra tb lying around that I want to get ported and yeah I want to get the intake polished. I think for the money, that's the way to go right now. I know the easier air gets in and out the more horsepower.

I mainly asked this question to see if it was worth the money to get headers. I don't have any plans in the future for turbo, unless it's on a WRX. That's the next car I'd like to get.

I like the sound of my Evo. Gets attention. And I can hear the engine in between shifts with the intake. Just trying to get a realistic answer. Thanks for all opinions.

You wont feel any gains from P&P your intake mani... You may get 1hp.
