Its 2:50 in the morning right now, and I just got done reassembling my car. I just got my AF/X UDP kit in the mail today and at 10:00 Pm I started work on it. I whipped out the ol Chiltons manual to figure out how to remove my belts and how to get to the Crank pulley and all that good stuff, but I have a major problem. I figured out how to get the large accessory belt off (The one that does the power steering, A/C, and that junk). I cannot however get the Alternator belt off. I see the bolts that the Chiltons says to loosen but there is absolutley no way to get to them with any socket or wrench I have I can barely get my hands down in there to touch them. That is what is holding up progress, and since my car is my daily driver I had to put it all back together again }(

Any Suggestions? People who have done this before and have little hints, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't installed my afx udp yet. Have you tried to get the alternator belt from the bottom?

Yep, all alternator adjustment have to be done form the bottom. reach up around th axle and get to the back bolt. loose the bolts on the side first. And make sure you have a bolt same thread as the crank pulley (bare minimum grade 8.8, prefer higher) about an inch longer to aid in the removal and install.

I was trying it fron the bottom, I could get to the side bolt that needs to be loosened, but it wouldn't budge. I ultimately stripped it trying and didn't have a set of vice grips to get a good hold of it, as for the adjuster bolt though, how ther hell do you get to that from either side, its too damn close the well and impossible to see.

Remove the side motor mount and support the engine with a jack.
so you can move the engine up and down. Loosen the bottom side bolt. Raise the engine up and loosen the top side bolt.
From under the car reach up around the axle and get top the back on, plenty of room to get a ratchet on there.

Here's a tip:
1) Put the AFX UDP in the oven & heat it up as high as it goes
2) Use some thick a** gloves (like 4 outside grill, etc.) & run 2 your car quick
3) Slide it on nice & EZ, no pounding necc. ;)
